Paper Portrait – Flowing Locks (unframed)

Paper Sculpture: Flowing Locks hand-folded from a square of watercolour paper.

Each sculpture is completely unique, it is created freestyle and so the form appears at the whim of the artist, in the moment. The paper sculpture is created by easing curved folds into a sheet of dampened watercolour paper. As it dries, the sculpture stiffens and its new form is captured.

Contemplating the Future (unframed)

Paper Sculpture: Contemplating the Future by Polly Verity

A one-of-a-kind hand-folded paper sculpture, shaped freestyle from a single square of watercolour paper. Each piece is entirely unique — the form emerges intuitively in the whim of the moment.

Polly’s process begins with dampening the paper, then easing gentle curved folds into the surface. As the artist works, the paper dries, it finally stiffens and holds its new sculptural form — a delicate balance of sculptural spontaneity, captured in time.
